Madolah dan sdaraku,
I am not suprised that PUAS Bhd. is taking action on errant water consumers in Klang Valley. The amount is rather staggering-RM 232million! That is only the tip of the iceberg. Every year, it was reported that the state government has to inject RM 1 billion. More money will be needed soon to pay for buying water from Splash!Puncak Niaga claimed that PUAS owed them RM 850m. The Interbasin water transfer from Pahang to Selangor has yet to get started on the ground. That easily will cost the government another RM 4billion. With those figures, what is the future of PUAS and water supply to Klang Valley?
The question is why PUAS(formerly known as JBAS) did not take action two years ago? I was informed they are understaff. They bid for more officers but was put on hold because of the proposed privatisation and corporatisation. Now, they mean business after being corporatised.
I foresee there will be financial and corporate restructuring among water players in the Klang Valley. And the rate of water will be reviewed. The only way is up because water all along has been subsidised by most state governments.

Water is the most expensive commodity if you don't have it. We only know its true value when our wells ( pipes) run dry...Btw,it happened to me a few times in Kuala Lumpur.
