About 70% of Malaysian water pipelines is made up of asbestos pipes. The amount of "non-revinue water" is about 43%. The national target is to reduce that to 20% in 2002(I think). Looking at the amount of money allocated and the efforts taken so far , it is only a dream! Water literally goes down the drain. It is estimated to be about RM 108m loss every year. What a waste....
