The water "supply" is almost okay but the quality is unacceptable. But , what choice have we got? Water is the monopoly business of government or privatised companies. The customers have to live with it. The reason behind bad water quality is because our pipes were never cleaned periodically as they should:-((
we have clean water leaving the treatment plants, but the distribution network is badly maintained ,if any. Not to mention, 70% of our pipelines is asbestos pipes and we have national average of 43% "water loss"( non-revenue water). In Selangor alone, there were 12,000 pipe burst per year.

Water is the most expensive commodity if you don't have it. We only know its true value when our wells ( pipes) run dry...Btw,it happened to me a few times in Kuala Lumpur.
